The 6th Responsible Gaming Day (RGD), 28 November 2013, Brussels, Belgium
At the recent Responsible Gaming Day (run by the European Gaming and Betting Association), Simon Lelieveldt represented the EMA in a panel on the future of the regulation of the gaming industry. He said that that the e-money industry developed on the basis of harmonised legislation, and that the EMA still believes that harmonisation is needed if we are to avoid implementing country-specific solutions. He also said that simplified due diligence can add value by balancing ease of use with identification requirements that only kick in when needed or when beyond a certain threshold.
