Last week the FCA published an interim-report on mobile banking and payments. This interim report outlines the views and roadmap of the FCA on the risks in mobile banking. Next up is a phase of work which involves a more detailed assessment of a sample of providers of mobile banking. The main goal is to establish how providers of mobile banking services ensure that their offerings are secure, technically robust and straightforward for consumers to use.
It is expected that the actual assessments will take place late-2013 with further reporting scheduled for the first half of 2014.
