The EMA Malta Branch is a specialised network of e-money issuers and innovative payment service providers, all holding regulatory authorisation in Malta.
The EMA Malta Branch actively engages with the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) and the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU) on matters of policy impacting the e-money and payments sector.
At our quarterly meetings we discuss topics such as developments in payment services and e-money regulation (PSD3/PSR), digital operational resilience (DORA), AML/CFT requirements (AML Package), financial data access (FIDA) and any recent developments at EU or local level that impact EMI / PI business models.
Through these activities, the EMA ensures its members are well-represented and supported in navigating Malta’s evolving regulatory landscape.
